The Ice House @ 20 Swan Street is Trenton's first Green Development.
The following green features were implemented in the project:
- Oversized, insulated glass windows incorporated to maximize daylight
- Gas fired, energy efficient HVAC systems in each unit
- Programmable thermostats for energy efficiency
- Preserved existing building and part of Trenton's history
- Increased site’s open and green space
- Bamboo, a renewable material, was used as a flooring material
- Extra levels of insulation used to control inside air temperature
- Integrated day lighting into the design of town home units
- A modular, pre-fabricated truss system was used to minimize construction waste
